Objective
Omaha Hi/Lo is a game in a game. There are lots of possibilities to take place depending on how the players play. In this game, four cards are dealt to individual players and five communal cards are kept in the centre of the table.
Each player has to make a hand of five cards using exactly two private cards out of four which he holds in his hand and three communal cards kept on the table. The highest five hand and the lowest hand win the game. There are to winners in this game and thus, the pot is divided into two. If the lowest hand does not qualify, the player with the highest hand wins the whole pot. This is an interesting game, as it involves a lot of activity, lot of surprises, and more of action.
A qualifying low hand should have all the cards of 8 or lower. Ace is counted as the lowest card. Pairs in a low hand cannot exist. The lowest possible hand is A2345. The highest qualifying low hand is 87654. If a player gets his hand accordingly, he can win half of the pot. If the player who wins the lowest hand also has the highest hand, then he would win the whole pot.
Winning both the highest hand and the lowest hand is termed as ‘scooping the pot’. If no hand qualifies as low hand, than the player with the highest hand wins the whole pot. This game involves a lot of things which may not be expected. This game involves splitting the pot and having two winners in a single game and then too, an individual stands a chance to bag the whole pot. This is simply amazing. Unexpected things can happen and can turn a person’s fortune.
Omaha Hi/Lo is played by most of the people as there is more of action and surprises and more of money than other games. This is what attracts people towards the game and leave them playing this game for months together till they become professionals in this game.
