Forced Bets
In Omaha Hi/Lo, the players have to make hands using exactly two private cards and three communal cards. These specific numbers cannot be changed. The pot is split into two, one half is won by the one who has the lowest hand and the other half is won by the one who possess the highest hand. Thus, there are two winners in this game. There are two types of forced bets in this game, ante and blinds.
Ante is usually done in tournament games. In this, all the players have to put a certain amount of bet in the pot, before playing a round. This bet is usually 1/10 of the low limit bet size. This ante bet is independent is does not tell about any bets paced in future rounds.
Blind is a kind of forced bet where there has to be two bets in each round or hand. There are two blinds, small and big. The small blind is the ½ of the low limit size and is to be placed by the person who sits to the left of the dealer. Big blind is exactly the same amount as the low limit size and is placed by the person who sits to the left of the one who places small blind i.e. two seats left of the dealer.
These forced bets have to be placed before the round starts. These bets are live and can be raised or increased by the player. If only two players a playing the game, the dealer places the small blind and the other player places the big blind.
Omaha Hi/Lo has become a very popular game among all the players and has gained a lots of importance because of the interesting features of the game.
