Betting Rounds
The forced betting is done in two types, ante and blind. Ante is done usually in tournaments. Blind betting is done in two phases, small and big. The player to the left of the dealer places the small blind which is ½ of the low limit size, the player to the left of the player who places small blind has to place a big blind which is equal to the low limit size. There are four betting rounds in a game.
The first one is Preflop. Where, the person to the left of the dealer has to place the small blind. The person to the left of him has to place the big blind. The game starts from the person sitting to his left. He has the chance to call or to raise the bet. This goes clockwise around the table and the small blind may call putting ½ of the low limit. The big blind has already put the whole size of the low limit thus, he can only check.
In the second round i.e. the flop, three cards are dealt and kept on the able faced up. The game proceeds from the person sitting to the left of the dealer. All the bets in this round are of same as the low limit size.
In the third round i.e. the turn, one more card is dealt and placed on the table faced up. The bets and raises now should be equal to the higher limit of bet size. The game proceeds clockwise.
In the fourth round i.e. the river, a fifth card is dealt and placed on the table faced up. The bets and raises should be equal to the higher limit bet size. The game proceeds clockwise.
The rounds end here. The players who have not folded in previous rounds have to show their hand. The person who bets last has to show his hand first and the others have to show going clockwise. And the winner is declared.
This is a game which includes a lot of tactics and has to be played with concentration. This is not just another poker game but a very interesting game which has to be played with strategy.
